Do I have to use snow tires or snow chains to get to Obergurgl?
Snow tires are absolutely necessary if you come to Obergurgl by car. If you own snow chains we recommend to take them with you. Depending on weather and amount of snow you might need snow chain to get to Obergurgl. If the weather is bad you should inquire about the road conditions on the day of your arrival.

Where is the hotel and is it situated in quiet location?
Hotel Alpina is situated in very quiet location on a little hill in Obergurgl. There is no traffic around.

Where is Haus Sonnberg?
Haus Sonnberg is connected subterraneously to the main house. You wan't even recognize that you are in another building.

Is there a garage or an underground parking?
Yes. Next to the hotel there is a sufficient parking space. You can also reserve a parking site in the underground parking for a fee.

How do I get to the ski lifts?
The ski piste runs right next to the hotel. So you ski down the hill to the lifts and get back right to the hotel on your skis.

How do I get to the kids' ski school or to the ski school's meeting place?
If you already ski you can also ski down the hill to the meeting point. There is the meeting point for all skiing courses (adults, children, private lessons).

For beginners and children we offer a shuttle service that brings you to the children's meeting point and brings you back to the hotel again. The bus runs regularly at assigned times.

Do I have to book the skiing course already in advance?
You should book your private ski instructor already with your hotel reservation, particularly during holiday time. We are glad to do this for you. For group skiing courses this is not neccessary.

Where can I rent my skiing gear?
You can rent your entire skiing gear, also for your kids, at Sport Lohmann. It is not necessary to reserve it in advance. You can choose your skiing gear on site. Sport Lohmann will deliver the skiing you choose directly to the hotel.

Do I need a photo for my ski pass?
No, but for seniors and children a proof of age is absolutely necessary.

Do I have to reserve a table in the restaurant in advance?
No, but if you have a special wish we kindly ask you to announce it with your reservation.

Is there a non-smoking dining room?
Yes. Our dining room is divided in smoking and non-smoking area.

Is there a child care at noon?
Yes. There is a lunchtime child care in the ski school and in the hotel, if the children are in our kids' club. It's not possibile to look after the children ONLY during lunchtime.e

Is there a babysitter service?
We offer child care for children from 2 years up. If you need a babysitter please contuct us, we will try to find a babysitter for you.
