DO I NEED WINTER TYRES OR SNOW CHAINS TO GET TO OBERGURGL?
Winter tyres are indispensable when you arrive. Should you have snow chains we recommend to also take them with you. Depending on the weather conditions and amount of snowfall it is possible that snow chains become necessary for your journey to the Hotel in Obergurgl.
In the case of bad weather conditions you should enquire about the road conditions before or at the day of arrival.
WHERE IS THE HOTEL LOCATED AND IS IT QUIET?
The hotel Alpina is located very quietly on a small hill in Obergurgl, right at the ski piste. There is no traffic load.
WHERE IS THE ALPINA’S SONNBERG LOCATED?
The annex is connected to the main building through an underground passage. You will practically not even notice that you are in a different building.
ARE THERE PARKING SPACES OR AN UNDERGROUND GARAGE?
Right next to the hotel there are enough parking and underground parking spaces. Depending on availability we will be happy to reserve an underground parking space for you (max. height 2.40 m).
HOW DO I GET TO THE SKI LIFT?
The ski piste runs right past the hotel. This means that you can reach the lift stations on your skis and also go back to the hotel on your skis.
HOW DO I GET TO THE CHILDREN’S SKI SCHOOL OR TO THE MEETING POINT?
If you already know how to ski, you can ski down over the hill to the ski school’s meeting point. There is also the meeting point for all ski courses (adults, children and private ski courses).
For beginners and children we will offer a shuttle service that takes you to the beginners’ area and also to the ski school meeting point and back. The bus leaves at regular times.
DO I HAVE TO BOOK A SKI COURSE IN ADVANCE?
Private ski instructors should be booked already at your reservation, especially during the holidays. We will be happy to do this for you. For group courses this is not necessary.
WHERE CAN I RENT MY SKI EQUIPMENT?
Your entire ski equipment - also for children - can be rented at Sport Lohmann. It is not necessary to reserve it in advance. You can also get assistance on-site and choose your equipment. The equipment will then be delivered to the hotel.
DO I NEED A PHOTO FOR THE SKI PASS?
No. But it is indispensable to show a proof of age (children’s identity card, identity card, passport).
DO I HAVE TO RESERVE A TABLE AT THE RESTAURANT IN ADVANCE?
No. But should you have a special preference we ask you to state this already at your reservation. We will try to consider your preference if possible.
IS THERE A NON-SMOKING DINING HALL?
Yes. The whole dining hall is a non-smoking area. For some time now, the hotel lobby has also been a non-smoking area.
ARE THE CHILDREN ALSO SUPERVISED DURING LUNCH?
Yes. Child care over the lunch hour is offered at the ski school and also in our hotel if your children attend our children’s club. It is, however, not possible to supervise children ONLY during lunch time.
IS THERE A BABYSITTER SERVICE?
We offer child care for children from the age of 3. Should you need a babysitter please get into contact with us. We will make an effort to organise a babysitter.
WHAT IS A TEXTILE SAUNA LANDSCAPE?
The textile sauna landscape with sauna, steam bath and infrared cabin is connected with the pool area and is used with textiles (swimwear). Children from the age of 12 and adults are allowed.
